The Port is Flowing in Porto, Portugal

Having just spent a magical birthday trip in Lisbon, we were on our way back home to A Coruña, Spain, by train. But before our journey back was complete, we would have an overnight stopover in Porto, Portugal, a city we knew little about. Come to find out, the city has a long history and dates all the way back to the 4th century during Roman occupation of the Iberian Peninsula (that’s old). Tasty Bites A Coruña: Taberna Casa Rita

After a long week of working online inside the apartment, we love to spend our Saturdays walking around the city center. We visit the neighborhood farmer’s market, do some window shopping, and ALWAYS stop by Taberna Casa Rita.

We discovered this gem one Saturday by simply following the crowd. We noticed a sidewalk clogged with locals gathered outside of Casa Rita, talking and drinking in typical Spanish fashion. We pushed our way through the pack and finally made it to the bar area. To blend with the locals, we ordered a caña and glass of Albariño wine. Birthday in Lisbon

I was fortunate to celebrate my 27th birthday in Lisbon, Portugal. Lisbon has always been high on my list of future travels, and when Russell and I moved to A Coruna, Spain, the logistics of going were too easy not to finally make the trip.
