About Us

Megan and Russell here! For those of you who don’t know us, Russell, 28, and myself, 26, are an American couple that have packed up our lives in Dallas, TX and moved to A Coruña, Spain, a small city nestled on a peninsula off the Galician coast.

The journey to get here has been note-worthy, to say the least, which is why we’ve created the Thankful Traveler Website and Blog.

We wanted to create a space for our friends and family to join us on our worldly shenanigans while tempting them to visit us with tantalizing pictures of culinary deliciousness, foreign cocktails, and breathtaking views 🙂

But we also hope to offer insight into our experience as a guide for those who feel the same urge to live a life that’s exciting. In our blog we offer travel tips we learn along the way and the logistics of making our “what if” a reality.

And lastly, we created The Thankful Traveler for ourselves. We wanted to create a journal that would keep us honest about our experience. All the glamour associated with traveling can mask the difficulty of it. It’s important to remember the bad with the good, the funny bloopers, and the uncomfortable moments. The journey is multidimensional and complex, it’s human and that’s where its
value lies.

Thanks for stopping by our site! So far the ride has been exhilarating, and we couldn’t ask for anything more. While we share our stories with you we hope you’ll do the same. We’re always in need of travel advice so give us your feedback, suggestions, all of it!
